CARRIAGE OF GOODS IN WITH ENGLAND AFTER BREXIT.

As of 01.01.2021, Great Britain is no longer a member of the EU internal market or customs union. Further trade with Great Britain operates on a similar basis with other third countries (China, Norway, etc.). We still transport goods in this direction.

In case of export (transport from Estonia to Great Britain) an export declaration (EX1) must be made. If you do not have a customs agent yourself and have not yet found one, please contact us directly and we will help you find a customs agent. An invoice and a packing slip (packages / scales) are required to complete the export declaration. After that, we can already ship to the UK. The consignee in the United Kingdom is responsible for obtaining an import declaration for the goods in the UK.

In case of import (transport from Great Britain to Estonia) an export declaration (EX1) and transit (T1) must be made there, as the goods first leave the UK to France and from there through the EU countries to Estonia. It would be good if the UK sender had both EX1 and T1 documents drawn up. However, if it turns out that the sender has problems with it, then we have a partner in the UK who can formalize both. To do this, you need the following documents from the consignor:

  • Invoice (Commercial Invoice) with:
  • consignor details and EORI nr
  • consignee details and EORI nr
  • the origin of the goods
  • value and currency of the goods
  • customs codes of goods (HS code)
  • Packing list with:
  • quantity of goods and packages
  • description of goods
  • net and gross weight of goods

These documents need to be sent to us as soon as possible after the order has been confirmed so that we can start processing the customs paperwork.

ENGLAND – ESTONIA

We can bring a full load from England to Estonia within 4-6 days, depending on the driver’s working hours and driving restrictions in Germany and Poland.

The transport of partial loads from Great Britain to Estonia usually takes around 5-9 days. If we pick up a partial load from Great Britain (and Ireland) on Monday-Wednesday, the cargo will arrive in Estonia by the next Monday-Tuesday. If we pick up a partial load from Great Britain on Thursday or Friday, it will arrive in Estonia by the following Friday at the latest.

Delays can be caused by storms at sea that affect ferry schedules between Great Britain and the mainland and can cause long lines at the harbours.

Our regular route from England to Estonia goes by ferry from Dover to Dunkirk in France, continuing by land through Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, and finally by sea from the Travemünde or Kiel harbours to Latvia or Lithuania or sometimes by land through Poland.

We bring a wide variety of goods from Great Britain to Estonia, from high-tech electronics and new and used machinery and equipment to clothing, chemicals (including dangerous goods), alcohol, foodstuffs, etc.
